Obituary

MIGUEL BERNAL JR.

Miguel Bernal Jr., 67, suddenly went to heaven on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

Mr. Bernal was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Martin High School and received his associates degree from Laredo College. A Navy Veteran, he served his country faithfully and honorably. He loved talking about his service and his many trips to places like Hawaii and Alaska. His wife would tell him, "You sailed all around the world and you found me right here in Laredo."

Mr. Bernal retired from L.I.S.D. He started as a security guard at Cigarroa, Nixon and Martin. Then advanced to truant officer and serviced 19 elementary schools.

Mr. Bernal was known for his deep love of carne asadas every weekend. He would find new ways to cook outdoors on the cooking channel. Mr. Bernal was a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys and never missed watching a game.

He was a quiet, kind and patient man with a big heart. He always looked for the good in people. He would have a kind word for everyone. He was a devoted husband and dependable friend.

He will be missed deeply and remain in our hearts forever. Eternal rest grant unto Miguel Bernal Jr., O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
