Obituary

MINERVA HERNANDEZ

Our beloved mother Minerva Hernandez was called by the Lord to her final resting place in heaven on January 14, 2026 with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Angelita Garcia of West Texas and was a lifetime resident of Laredo, Texas. Mine, as she was affectionately known, was a loving wife, dedicated mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Mine married the love of her life, the late Nicolas Hernandez Sr. who were married for 60 years and were blessed with five beautiful children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. Our hearts are broken and we cannot imagine our lives without our mom. She was everyone's friend, loved to listen, help and especially talk to anyone who listened. She was always willing to help anyone in need and would always have coffee, sweetbread and a meal for anyone visiting her home. She and our father loved being the padrinos for baby Jesus during the posadas. They did this for many years. She loved to cook, make beautiful flower arrangements and enjoyed our family camping trips. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sibling and friend. She loved her family dearly and loved being a wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Nicolas Hernandez Sr. and daughter Sonia Hernandez, brothers, Manuel Reyes and Raul Garcia and sisters Seferina Hernandez, Sara Garcia and Margarita Cordova.

She is survived by her children, Severina (Fernando) Alvarado, Sally A (David) Hinojosa, Senaida (Rene) Gonzalez and Nicolas (Erika) Hernandez Jr. and seven loving grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, brothers Federico Reyes, Aucencio (Guadalupe) Lopez Sr., and sister Delfina Hernandez and many nieces and nephews and friends.
