Miroslava A. Martinez, 68, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, in Laredo, Texas.

Miros, as she liked to be called, was born in Nueva Ciudad Guerrero, Mexico and was a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas.  First and foremost she was a loving and strong willed mother and grandmother who always showed her children and grandchildren how to live each day to the fullest.  She was also a passionate educator for over 30 years where she touched the lives of many students, teachers, and administrators of whom she worked with during her career and even after as she retired while she continued to substitute for beloved district UISD.

She is preceded in death by her son, Esteban Martinez, and sister, Leticia Alaniz.

She is survived by her parents, Alejandro and Genoveva Alaniz.  Her loving husband, of 47 years of marriage, Juan E. Martinez.  Children, Gladys (Robert) Botello, and Evelyn (Ricardo) Ruiz.  Grandchildren, Rebecca Martinez, Esteban Martinez, Catalina Mia Ruiz, Azaneth Marie Ruiz, and Adreanna Botello. Sisters, Esmeralda Alaniz and Griselda (Lauro) Mascorro.  Other family members, Rocio Najera and several other close relatives and friends.

Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.

Although the Family is welcoming flowers during the services they would prefer restaurant gift cards to help during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and a Vigil of the deceased will be held at 4 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . Committal services will be held on a later date.
