NARCISO RAMIREZ
Narciso Ramirez, 99, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in Floresville, Texas.
Mr. Ramirez was born in Laredo, Texas where he had been a resident of nearly 100 years. He was a proud veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army as a medic. After his discharge he attended the Laredo Adult Vocational School where he was certified as a radio & television technician and cabinetmaker. He subsequently owned and operated a radio & television repair business on Santa Maria Avenue until the 1960s. Afterwards, he was employed by the United States Post Office for over 30 years until his retirement. Throughout his post WWII years he was an active member of the American Legion in Laredo.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Genoveva V. Ramirez, his parents Jose Maria and Elena Ramirez, and his siblings Carmen Muñoz (Anastacio +), Dolores Alcorta (Patricio +), Jose Maria Ramirez, Francisco Ramirez (Maria Petra +), Josefina Garcia (Valentin +) and Felipe Ramirez (Consuelo +).
He is survived by his children Elsa Belinda (Kevin) Shannon and Hector Rolando Ramirez, his grandchildren Venessa (Eric) Treviño, Melissa Ramirez, Brenda Lee (Chris) Garcia, Rene De la Rosa, Catalina (Rodolfo) Sanchez and Christiana G. Shannon, and his 12 beloved great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and long-time friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church. Committal Services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
