NARCISO "CHICO" SANDOVAL
With unwavering faith, Narciso Sandoval, known by most as 'Chico', entered the kingdom of Heaven on the 5 th day of June 2025 to be with his Lord and Savior. He came to rest peacefully in his home in Laredo, Texas surrounded by family and loved ones. He was 97 years old.
Chico was born on the 19 th day of August 1927 to parents Pedro and Maria Sandoval in Austin, Texas. Born during the era of the Great Depression, he became driven and resilient. In 1948, he joined the United States Army and served in the 9th Infantry Unit. In 1976, he married Rosalba Lopez, and together, they celebrated 49 years of marriage. During his lifetime, he experienced almost a century of change and historical events. He honored traditions, donated to charitable causes, and remained a devoted follower of Christ. He developed a talent for art and received recognition for his hand-drawn portraits. Chico admired great works of art and enjoyed visiting museums especially those holding pieces by his favorite artist, Salvador Dalí. All the while, Chico was a dedicated father who loved to travel with his children and family. His favorite vacation spots were New York and yearly visits to the beaches of Mexico during summers.
He is survived by many loving family members including his wife, Rosalba Lopez Sandoval and children David Sandoval, Javier Sandoval, Claudia Sandoval Garcia, and Jesus Sandoval, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and preceded in death by son, Sergio Sandoval.
He reunited in Heaven with brothers Vicente Sandoval, Jesus Sandoval, Pedro Sandoval, and sisters Etelvina Sandoval, Justa Sandoval Castillo, and Beatrice Sandoval Charles.
Solace is found in knowing that Chico is now rejoicing with passed loved ones in the presence of the Almighty. "In His Light, we find comfort". As a loving gesture, family and friends can send flowers to his Visitation Service that will be held on Tuesday June 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hernández-López and Sons Northside Chapels (corner of Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave.). There, funeral services will begin on Wednesday June 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Committal and interment will then follow at the City of Laredo Cemetery.

Chico nació el 19 de agosto de 1927 en Austin, Texas, hijo de Pedro y María Sandoval.

A lo largo de su vida, vivió casi un siglo de cambios y acontecimientos históricos. Honró
las tradiciones, donó a causas benéficas y siguió siendo un devoto seguidor de Cristo. Desarrolló
un talento para el arte y recibió reconocimiento por sus retratos dibujados a mano. Chico
admiraba grandes obras de arte y disfrutaba visitando museos, especialmente aquellos que tenían
piezas de su artista favorito, Salvador Dalí. Mientras tanto, Chico era un padre dedicado al que le
encantaba viajar con sus hijos y su familia. Sus lugares favoritos de vacaciones eran Nueva York
y las visitas anuales a las playas de México durante los veranos.
Le sobreviven muchos miembros amorosos de su familia, entre ellos su esposa, Rosalba
López Sandoval y sus hijos David Sandoval, Javier Sandoval, Claudia Sandoval García y Jesús
Sandoval, 10 nietos y 5 bisnietos, y fue precedido en la muerte por su hijo, Sergio Sandoval. Se
reunió en el Cielo con sus hermanos Vicente Sandoval, Jesús Sandoval, Pedro Sandoval y sus
hermanas Etelvina Sandoval, Justa Sandoval Castillo y Beatrice Sandoval Charles.
El consuelo se encuentra al saber que Chico ahora se regocija con sus seres queridos
fallecidos en la presencia del Todopoderoso de quien "En Su Luz, encontramos consuelo". Como
un gesto amoroso, familiares y amigos pueden enviar flores a su velorio que se llevará a cabo el
martes 10 de junio de 2025, de 4:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m. en las Capillas Northside de Hernández-
López & Sons (esquina de Boston St. y San Bernardo Ave.). Allí, los servicios fúnebres
comenzarán el miércoles 11 de Junio de 2025 a las 10:00 a.m. seguido por el sepulcro en el
Cementerio de la Ciudad de Laredo.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Religious service will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Chapel services will be officiated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Committal services will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
