Obituary

NORBERTO DIAZ JR. Norberto Diaz Jr., 54, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Diaz was born in Laredo, Texas and had been residing in Spring, Texas coming back to his hometown Laredo. He was a 1969 graduate of Martin High School and decided to become a Marine right after graduation. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War in which he served with the United States Marine Corp. 3rd Marine Division 3rd Battalion 12th Marine from 1969 -1971. He was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. He was Honorably discharged in 1971 and reached the rank of Corporal. During his time in Laredo, he was employed with the Dupont Paint Company for numerous years. When he moved to Houston he was employed with the Essex Brownell Company for over 15 years as a retail salesperson. He returned home to retire and enjoy life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norberto Diaz Sr. and Rosa Maria Diaz and by his brother and sister-in-law: Miguel Rogelio (Maria Magdalena) Diaz. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years of marriage Diana Maria Diaz. Children, Norberto (Audrey Price) Diaz III, Nathan Michael (Melissa Loredo) Diaz and Nicholas Eli Diaz. Grandchildren, Alejandro "Alex" Miguel Diaz, Alexis Nichole Diaz and Antonio Miguel Diaz. Sisters-in-law; Dora (Armando) Moreno, Olivia (Adolfo +) Guajardo, Raul (Mary) Garza, Jose Guadalupe (Santos) Garza. His devoted partner his dog "Papi" Also surviving him are nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
