Norma Rosa Gonzalez Norma Rosa Gonzalez, 67, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. in a local hospital Mrs Gonzalez was born in Toledo, Ohio and had been a resident of Laredo for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her son, Jose Antonio Gonzalez who pass away on December 30, 1977. Her parents: Juan Ortiz and Elvira R. Ortiz. Sisters: Dora Lyon and Avelina Villarreal. and her brothers, Juan Ortiz and Eugenio Ortiz. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years of marriage, Raul Gonzalez, Sr. Children, Diana (Rene) Benavides, Raul (Melinda) Gonzalez, Jr., Gerardo Javier (Guadalupe) Gonzalez, and Joann (Jose) Pacheco. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Sisters, Alicia Gutierrez, and Olga Gonzalez Brother, Jose Luis Ortiz. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, and other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be officated at 7 pm in the Hernandez, Lopez & Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
