NORMA PRUNEDA Norma Pruneda, 74, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at a local hospital. Mrs. Pruneda was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Alvarez and Maria Armenta. Brothers and sisters, Juan Alvarez, Elvia Alvarez de Luna, Maria E. Alvarez Pool, Luz Maria Alvarez Duran, Miguel Alvarez Armenta and Enrique Alvarez Armenta. She is survived by her children, Eugenio (Carmen) Rodriguez Jr., Alejandro (Angelica) Rodriguez, Jose J. Pruneda and Diana (Eleuterio) Soto. Grandchildren, Nick E. Contreras, Ricardo Soto, Margarita Rodriguez-Johnston, Mayra Lizzette Rodriguez, Alejandra M. Rodriguez, Marlenne Rodriguez, Alejandro Rodriguez Jr., Laura Rodriguez, Jessica Rodriguez and Eugenio Rodriguez, III. great grandchildren, Ariel, Ashlyn, Xavier Contreras, Nina and Ian Johnston. Brothers and sisters, Mario Alvarez Armenta, Gloria Gamez and Rodolfo Alvarez Armenta. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. a chapel service officiated by Rev. Deacon David Vargas will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapel, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Committal services will immediately follow the service at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
