Obituary

OCTAVIO GARZA Octavio Garza, 89, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at his local residence. Mr. Garza was born in Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria and Ana Garza. Wife, Clara Garza. Sisters, Maria Flores and Minerva Lozano. Granddaughter, Claudia Taboada. Brothers-in-Law, Francisco Flores, Santiago Lozano, Edelio Rangel and Roman Gutierrez. He is survived by his children, Olga (Javier) Taboada, Gladys (Fernando) Amador, Clara Garza, Rossana (Pedro) Ruiz and Octavio (Cecilia) Garza. Grandchildren, Eduardo Lozano, Olga Lozano, Claudia Amador, Fernando Amador, Jr., Javier Omar Nunez, Joshua J. Garza, Ricardo Nunez, Peter A. Ruiz and Galilea Garza. 4 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Brothers and Sisters, Nery Rangel, Gloria Gutierrez, Jose Maria Garza and Gustavo Garza. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. Also a special heartfelt thanks to his caretaker, Raquel Lopez for all the loving care and attention given to Mr. Garza. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
