OFELIA G. CAVAZOS
Ofelia G. Cavazos, 82, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mrs. Cavazos was born in Los Herreras, N.L. Mexico and had been a lifelong resident of Laredo, Texas.
Mrs. Cavazos was a devote Catholic that served on the Altar Society at San Vicente De Paul Catholic Church. Her faith was active and ever –present, emulating the servitude taught by Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This faith was passed on to her children, spurred by a spiritual awakening of the Cursillo de Cristianidad Movement.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Rolando A. Cavazos.
Parents, Santos and Juanita Garcia.
Brother, Emedardo Garcia.
She is survived by her children, Rolando (Hilda) Cavazos Jr., San Juanita (Gilbert) Terronez, Gilda Cavazos, Juan Antonio (Maria Elsa) Cavazos, Alberto I. Cavazos, Eduardo M. (Leticia) Cavazos, Pablo F. (Clara) Cavazos, Jorge L. (Claudia) Cavazos and Peter M. (Diana) Cavazos.
20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Brother, Pedro (Tina) Garcia.
Sisters, Victoria Montelongo, Hermelinda Flores, Graciela Morales and America Garcia.
Also surviving her are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Vicente De Paul Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
