OLIVIA M. ALVARADO Olivia M. Alvarado, 86, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at a local hospital. Mrs. Alvarado was born in Taft, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Porfirio Alvarado Jr. Son, Jose Antonio Alvarado. Sister, Amparo Benavides. Brothers, Roberto Barreda and Hipolito Barreda Jr. She is survived by her sons, Porfirio (Anita) Alvarado III and Jaime Javier Alvarado. Grandchildren, Stephanie A. (Joe) Galindo, Christopher J. Alvarado and Amanda Garcia, Michael J. Alvarado, Antonio Alvarado and Porfirio Alvarado. 5 great-grandchildren. Sister, Consuelo B. Buitron. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning, July 24, 2013 from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
