OLIVIA G. PENA Olivia G. Pena, 82, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 9, 2011 in Laredo, Texas. She was born in Laredo, Texas on January 24, 1929 to Pilar and Josefa Gonzales. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jose Pena, grandson Carlos Rene Solis and by her sister, Josefina Castorena. She was truly a remarkable mother whose strength, love and courage inspired all of us. We were truly blessed to have had the greatest mother. She will continue to be in our hearts and minds of all who had the honor to know and love her. She taught us the importance of family and friends. We would like to thank all of our cousins and friends who visited our mother and brought her joy and laughter on a daily basis. She is survived by her 9 children, Juanita (Hector) Solis, Juan Manuel (Consuelo) Pena, Jose Jr. (Josie) Pena, Javier (Laura) Pena, Gloria (Arturo) Tanguma, Armando (Araceli) Pena, Albert Pena, Andy (Juanita) Pena, and Arturo Pena. 10 Grandchilden Hector II (Tara) Solis, Jessica Benavides, Monica Pena, Selena Pena, Joey Pena, Selina (Frank) Heredia, Harris Williams, Leslee Williams, Jon Williams, and Emily Williams. 4 great-grandchildren, Hector (Trey) Solis, Noah Nicohlas Solis, Hailey Marie Heredia, and Iliana Renee' Benavides. 2 sisters, Maria Del Pilar Martinez and Maria Inez Diaz. 1 Brother Roberto Gonzales. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. 3 brothers-in-law, Augustine Martinez, Jesus and Roberto Pena 3 sisters-in-law, Maria Ramos, Josefina Pena, and Socorro Pena. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
