OSCAR C. CANALES Oscar C. Canales, 92, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at a local hospital. Mr. Canales was born in Cuidad Mier Tamaulipas, Mexico and had been a life long resident in Laredo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esteban and Paula Canales. Sisters, Genoveva C. Barrera and Exiquia C. Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years of marriage, Ernesta G. Canales. Children, Oscar M. (Celia) Canales, Natalia Canales Garza, Adelina (Juan) Hinojosa, Paula (Jose F.) Dominguez and Oneyda Canales. 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at departing Tuesday morning May 13, 2014 from the funeral home chapel. A Holy Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
