Obituary

Oscar Garza Oscar Garza, 86, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 in a local hospital. Mr. Garza was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. He was a pilot and was a World War II veteran with the U.S. Navy. He moved to Chicago, IL where he raised his family and later when he retired he moved back to his hometown, Laredo, Texas. Mr. Garza is preceded in death by his brothers, Lazaro Garza and Jesus Garza. Sister, Olga Rodriguez. He is survived by his loving wife, Dora L. Garza. Children, Homero (Laura) Garza, Daniel (Cathy) Garza, Edna Garza and Dora (Andrew) Troupis. Grandchildren, Jessica Garza, Zachary Garza, Daniel (Lisa) Garza, III., Christopher Garza, Cassandra Garza, Ashton Troupis and Ariel Troupis. Sisters, Alicia Ortiz, Lilia Sanchez and Emma Tenorio. Brother-in-Law, Manuel Trevino. Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
