OSCAR M. OROZCO MARCH 14, 1924 - FEBRUARY 2, 2014 On February 2, 2014 the heavens opened up and welcomed with open arms our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and proud World War II Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Maria Orozco and his brothers, Joe and Juan Orozco. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years of marriage, Gladys Orozco, 7 children, Fred (Adriana), Oscar (Betty), Bernadette, William, Bernice, Stephen (Kathy) and Patrick. Mr. Orozco is also survived by 10 grandchildren, David, PJ, Rochelle, Leila, Marcus, Meagan, Theresa, Stephen, Samantha, Michael and Ava and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary (Bob French). Last but not least Mr. Orozco is also survived by his two constant and loyal companions his dogs, Charlie and Charleen. Mr. Orozco worked for the Laredo Morning Times from 1946-1956. After that Mr. Orozco was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 39 years until his retirement in December 31, 1992. He proudly served in the United States Navy in World War II from June 17, 1943 - April 4, 1946. He received the American Area Campaign Medal, The Asiatic Pacific Area, World War II Victory Medal and The Philippine Liberation Medal. He spent 32 months over-seas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. A Chapel service will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Committal services and interment will immediately follow in the Laredo City Cemetery.
