Obituary

OTILA MARTINEZ
Otila Martinez, 89, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. Martinez was born in Dolores, Texas and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.
For over forty years, Mrs. Martinez worked as a cosmetician for Hachar's Dept. Store and Las Novedades, Inc. She was known to be very friendly and very helpful, as she enjoyed what she did with great passion. She was always eager to get to work and was known to be dependable, and always wore a smile.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Exiquio and Juana Martinez.
Brothers, Cristobal Martinez and Guillermo "Willie" Martinez
Sisters, Felipa M. Cruz and Olivia M. Harlan.
She is survived by her daughter, Alicia M. (Johnny) Castillo Sr.
Grandchildren, Johnny (Ana) Castillo Jr. and Jose G. Castillo.
Great-grandchildren, Trinidad (Iris) Gamez Jr., Sonya (Mariano) Marquez, Melissa (Daniel) Hinojosa, Roberto (Ofelia) Gamez and Juan Jose Castillo.
Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated  at 10 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will be held on a later date.
