PABLO VARGAS
Pablo Vargas , 84, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mr. Vargas was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident. Mr. Vargas was a Veteran of the United Stated Army and served with Battery "B" 602nd Field Artillery Battalion in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He served his term from December 9, 1952 and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal before being Honorably Discharged on December 13, 1954.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Trinidad Vargas.
Son, Pablo Vargas Jr.
Sisters, Margarita Gonzalez and Concepcion Vargas.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 53 years of marriage, Maria G. Vargas.
Daughter, Sylvia (Steve) Mancha.
3 grandchildren, Selina Mancha, Shelsi Mancha and Seliza Mancha.
Sister, Maria (Juan) Cruz.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 10:05 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
