PEDRO "PIRA" VARGAS

Pedro "Pira" Vargas,66, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Vargas was born and raised in Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his son Daniel Vargas, by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Luis Vargas and Soledad Carranza De Vargas, by his siblings, Jesus "Chuy" Vargas, Estela Sanchez and Elvia Gonzalez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years of marriage Blaza R. Vargas.

His children, Griselda (John Vela) Vargas, Pedro (Olga Hernandez) Vargas, Jr., Miguel (Griselda Arranbide) Vargas and Daisy (Steven Sanchez) Vargas.

His grandchildren, Abby Lopez, Teresa Campos, John Vela Jr., Andrew Vela, Timothy Vargas, Brianna Vargas, Damien Vargas, Jesus Garcia, Miguel Vargas, Matthew Vargas, Daniela Vargas, Mia Sanchez and Emma Sanchez.

Great-grandchildren; Adam Campos, Juliana Campos, Santiago Campos, Adeline Vela, Ximena Vela, John Vela III and Madison Lopez.

His siblings, Gloria Vasquez, Luis Angel Vargas, Soledad Bedarte, Alicia Vasquez and Ricardo Vargas.

Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. A rosary and Liturgy of the Word will be officiated at 7:00 p.m. by the Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon. Committal services and interment will be held at a later date.
