PETRA C. FERNANDEZ Petra C. Fernandez, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 in Laredo, Texas at the age of 81. Mrs. Fernandez was born in Candela, Coahuila Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo most of her life. She is preceded in death by her father Ascencion Cadena and by her brothers Manuel Cadena and Gabino Cadena. The Fernandez family extend their heart felt graditude to Dr. Maurice Click, Dr. Ricardo Cigarroa and Dr. Rafael Deliz and Nursing from the heart especially Nurse Jessica Hinojosa, Jordan Primary Care especially her caretaker Yolanda Guzman and the stepdown ICU at Laredo Medical Center for the wonderful service given to our wife and mother during her time under their care. She is survived by her husband of 51 years of marriage Vicente Fernandez. By her daughter Sandra (Emilio) Villarreal. Mother, Paula Jimenez. Grandchildren: Emilio Davian Villarreal, Eliser Sebastian Villarreal and Valeria Zoe Villarreal. By her siblings; Consuelo Sifuentes, Beatriz Sanchez, Victor Cadena, Daniel Cadena, Higinio Cadena, Jesus Cadena, Pedro Cadena and Victor Cadena. Also surviving her are numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation and a Vigil of the Deceased were held in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. and San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
