Porfirio Gonzalez, 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.

Mr. Gonzalez was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. He was an active member of the Church of Christ in Laredo and he worked for numerous years at Sande Fashion for Men, in Downtown Laredo and afterwards was employed for many years at Joe Brand, until his retirement. He will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Guadalupe and Mrs.Celsa Gonzalez.

Siblings, Guadalupe Gonzalez, Paulino Gonzalez, Herminio Gonzalez, Daniel Gonzalez and Maria De Jesus Gonzalez.

Son-in-Law, James Winsett.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years of marriage, Alicia Gonzalez.

Children, Antonio (Shirley) Gonzalez, Elsa Margarita Winsett, Porfirio (Goratti) Gonzalez Jr. and Rafael (Claudia) Gonzalez.

Grandchildren, Antonio Gonzalez Jr., Christopher Gonzalez, Natali Gonzalez, Miguel A. Gonzalez, Gerardo G. Gonzalez, Sebastian Gonzalez and Diego Gonzalez.

Several great grandchildren.

Siblings, Obed Gonzalez, Lucinda Gonzalez, Lydia Vega, Emelida Montemayor.

Also surviving him are numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to offer their gratitude to Las Alturas Nursing home for the special care provided to Mr. Gonzalez during his stay.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 12, 2022 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . A chapel service, officiated by Brothers Javier Fernandez and Joel Gamez of the Church of Christ, was held before committal services and interment which followed at the Laredo City Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Sebastian Gonzalez, Diego Gonzalez, Christopher Gonzalez, Antonio Gonzalez, Jerry Gonzalez, Miguel Gonzalez, Porfirio Gonzalez Jr. and Antonio Gonzalez.

HONORARY PALLBEARER: Rafael Gonzalez.
