PORFIRIO MARTINEZ

Mr. Porfirio Martinez died peacefully in his home, on

December 20, 2018, surrounded by his family members,

at the age of 73.

Mr. Martinez had an extensive musical career.

At the age of 17, he played with Los 5 Reyes Group. He was

the accordion player for Los Diamantes de Carlos Guerrero, Los

Vientos de Gustavo Claudio, and keyboard player for Sangre

Mexicana.

He is preceded in death by his father, Filiberto Martinez, mother,

Maria C. Martinez, brothers, Victor Martinez and Alejandro

Martinez.

He is survived by his wife, of 45 years, Sara R.

Martinez, daughters, Patricia (Arturo) Paredes, Ivana Martinez

(Luis Godines); grandchildren, Valeria Paredes and Luis Godines, Jr.

Brothers, Daniel Martinez, Gilberto Martinez and sisters, Rosario Ramos

and Francisca Campos.

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives

and many friends.

Family will receive guests from 5 to 9 p.m. and a Religious Service, officiated by Pastor Victor Trevino, Jr., will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2018 in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels , 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. A religious service will be officiated at  9 a.m. on Monday, December 24, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Committal services will follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
