Obituary

PRIMO CASTILLA JR.

Primo Castilla Jr., age 58, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, surrounded by love. Born on October 1, 1967, in Laredo, TX, Primo lived a life rooted in family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, a dependable son, and a caring brother, whose greatest joy came from time with those he loved. He shared 32 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Maribel G. Castilla, creating a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. As a father, he was a steady presence—supportive, patient, and always available when needed. As a grandfather, he took immense pride and found joy in every moment with his grandchild. As a son and a brother, he was loyal, dependable, and deeply devoted to his family.

Primo is survived by his wife, Maribel G. Castilla; his children, Maribel (Jorge) Fernandez, Primo Castilla, III, and Isabella Castilla; his cherished grandchild, Luke Asher; his father, Primo Castilla; his siblings, Dr. Israel Castilla, Consuelo (Gerardo) Arrambide, Manuela (Juan) Loa, Cesar (Lorena) Castilla, and Abraham Castilla; his sisters-in-law, Ana Gonzalez, Veronica (Fred) Vasquez, and Velma (Antonio) Colecio; along with numerous beloved nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Consuelo L. Castilla, and his in-laws, Virgilio and Guadalupe Gonzalez.

Those who knew Primo will remember him for his humor, strength, and love of family. His love and guidance will be deeply missed, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be officiated at 7 p.m. by Rev. Deacon Leonard Aguillon in the Hernandez Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Committal services will be held on a later date.
