PROF. CARLOS RIVERA Prof. Carlos Rivera, 71, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at a local hospital. Mr. Rivera was born in Candela, Coahuila Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for sometime. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro Rivera and Maria De La Cruz Rivera. Brothers, Armando Rivera, Jesus Rivera, Antonio Rivera and Pedro Rivera. Sisters, Beatriz Bernal, Esperanza Ugartechea and Consuelo Garcia. She is survived by her wife, Maria Rivera. Children, Laura (Gabriel) Ramirez, Adriana (Mario) Perez, Juan Carlos Rivera, Maria Teresa (Humberto) Castillo and Juan Bernal, Jr. 15 grandchildren Siblings, Josefa Rivera and Benito Rivera. Also surviving him are nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Southside Chapels, Loop 20 and a Zapata Hwy. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Santo Nino Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
