RAFAEL CIENFUEGOS JR.
Rafael Cienfuegos Jr., 76, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at a local hospital.
Mr. Cienfuegos was born in Aravaipa Canyon, Arizona and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, for over 21 years, having served during the Vietnam Era, as an Air Force REGAF A1C, assigned to the 49th TFWG (USAFE). Mr. Cienfuegos was decorated with the NDSM AFM 900-3, AFGCM (21May62-20May65), AFM 900-3 SAEMR, SOGB 20 6 JUN 66, 49 TFW, AFISA and the AFM 900-3 AFOUA SOGB 28 DAF 1967. He then reenlisted with the Air Force Reserves. For Over 31 years, Mr Cienfuegos was an Educator with LISD , who later educated Laredo's children, as a Librarian with the school district. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 36 years of marriage, Margarita L. Cienfuegos.
Children, Angelica Cienfuegos, Margarita Cristina Cienfuegos (Mark Bernal) and Jose R. Cienfuegos.
Grandchildren, Tyler J. Bernal, Mark Bernal Jr., Mercedes Sofia Bernal, Steven Austin Bernal, Eric Mathew Bernal, John Michael Bernal and Liliana Xochitl Bernal.
Sister, Emilia Cienfuegos.
Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Religious Service will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston at San Bernardo Ave.
A chapel service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018. Committal services and interment, with full military honors, will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery-Veteran's Section.
