RAFAEL LOPEZ
Rafael Lopez, 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
Mr. Lopez was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico and lived in Chicago, Illinois, before moving to Laredo, Texas. He was a very dedicated truck driver having worked at Averitt Express, Carter Express and at Point Dedicated, during his 22 years as a truck driver. Mr. Lopez was also a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Irma Lopez.
Brother, Sergio Lopez.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 15 years of marriage, Martina A. Lopez.
Children, Julio (Alyssa) Olivares, Cassandra (Paul) Singleterry and Francisco J. Olivares.
3 grandchildren.
Sisters, Clara (Paul) Grala, Irma Lopez and Iliana (Jose Luis) Herrera.
Brothers, Antonio (Mary) Lopez and Roberto (Martha) Lopez.
Best friend, Ken.
Also surviving him are nieces, nephew, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Southside Chapel, Loop 20 and Zapata Hwy
. Funeral services will begin departing at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, June 17, 2022. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Santa Rita de Casia Catholic Church. Committal services and inurnment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery with full military honors and flag presentation provided by the Laredo Veteran's Honor Guard.
