Rafaela Mosqueda , 105, passed away on July 14th, 2023 in Laredo, Texas.

Born in Winslow, Arizona she had been a long-time resident of East Chicago, Indiana. Very recently, she had relocated to Laredo Texas to be closer to family. Rafaela was an active, independent, driven woman, who survived hip surgery at 100 and continued to live on her own for another year before then contracting and surviving COVID at 102. A lover of Mexican Cinema, she shared her love of Pedro Infante's films to her grandchildren. A devout catholic, when not attending Mass her favorite pastime was making tamales to feed friends and family. Similarly, she was always willing to help everyone and not knowing the concept of the word "NO" when it came to being of service. She will be remembered for her loving, but witty sense of humor and always having a saying for any situation.

She is preceded in death by her parents:  Pablo Mosqueda and Maria Lopez

Siblings: Pablo Mosqueda, Josefina Mosqueda, Teresa Mosqueda, Lorenzo Mosqueda, Miguel Mosqueda, and Refugio Mosqueda,

Her children: Jovita Mosqueda, Leoncio Guerrero and Fernando Mosqueda,

Her grandchildren: Esteban Guerrero, Mario Guerrero, Jaime Mosqueda, Claudia Guerrero, Jose Mosqueda, Sebastian Mosqueda, Refugio Mosqueda, and Alexander Mosqueda

She is survived by her daughter Maria de Los Angeles Becerra  grandchildren:  Julian Becerra, Angelica Reza (Jorge), David Becerra (Rachel), Miguel Becerra (Judith), Nichole Lopez (Francisco), Marcos Mosqueda, Marissa Mosqueda (Ruben), Andres Guerrero, Patricia Guerrero, Valentin Guerrero, Guillermo Guerrero, Javier Guerrero, Norma Villarreal, Isaac Villarreal (Savanna), Benjamin Villarreal (Paloma) and Jose Villarreal (Alice).

48 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren and 3 great great great grandchildren.

Also surviving her are nephews, nieces, and other relatives.

Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday July 26th at Holy Trinity Catholic located 8626 FM1105, Jarrell, TX 76537. The family requests a donation in her memory be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in lieu of flowers .
