Obituary

RAMIRO P. GONZALEZ April 28, 1940 - August 9, 2012 Ramiro P. Gonzalez, 72, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at a local hospital. Mr. Gonzalez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a resident for all of his life. He was employed by the very first Laredo Bowling Alley as a pin boy up until his retirement. He also loved golf at a young age and was known as the dancer for moving his feet while hitting the golf ball. His other love was bowling, which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He was an active member of San Martin De Porres Church and his family was part of the founding families. He also was co-founder of the San Martin De Porres Bowling League and he participated with church functions such as jamaicas and dances. He loved to spend time with his family and was always the first to start off any dance. He was a devoted fan to the Dallas Cowboys and Tiger Woods. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisca and Eugenio Gonzalez. Siblings, Reginita, Benito, Santos and Salomon Gonzalez. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years of marriage, Maria Josefina "Josie" Gonzalez. Children, Frances (Joe) Puente, Ramiro (Leonor) Gonzalez Jr., Sandra (Cesario) Morales, Ana (J.J.) Ballesteros and Esmeralda (Peter) Garibay. Grandchildren, Cesario (Gaby) Morales Jr., Amaris Gutierrez, Steven Gutierrez Jr., Senaida Morales, Kassandra Gonzalez, Petey Garibay, Scotty Gutierrez, Liah Garibay and Sabrina Garibay. Great-grandchildren, Derek Morales and Katherine Gutierrez. Siblings, Policaprio (Lucilia) Gonzalez, Esther Estrada, Severo (Leticia) Gonzalez, Virginia Moreno and Rosa Gonzalez. Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends. The Gonzalez Family would like to thank Dr. Oscar Gutierrez and Staff, Dr. Carlos Cigarroa and Staff, Dr. Pablo Trevino and Staff, Laredo Medical Wound Care and Laredo Medical Nurses on the 2nd and 3rd Floor. Also a very special heartfelt thanks to his two wonderful caregivers, Janie Garcia and Lupita Hernandez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
