Ramon Peña Jr., 85, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mr. Peña was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Felipa Peña.
Daughters, Alma Lydia Peña and Guiselda Peña Ortiz.
Brothers, Armando Peña, Julian Peña and Felix Peña.
Sisters, Berta Peña and Carmen Peña Perez.
He is survived by is loving wife, Lilia P. Peña.
Son, Gerardo Peña.
Daughter, Leticia Peña.
Grandchildren, Lilia (Adrian) Carranza, Imelda Peña, Amanda Peña, Monica Peña, Melissa Peña and Gerardo Peña Jr.
Great-grandchildren, Emili Carranza, Abigail Carranza and Allison Espinoza.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Peña was a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean Conflict and was a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
