Bernal, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the age of 82 Mrs. Bernal was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Macaria and Ricardo Villarreal and by her brothers, Ricardo Villarreal Jr. and Alejo Villarreal. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years of marriage, Jorge Bernal. Son, Jorge Bernal Jr. Daughters, Patricia (Raul) Gamez and Maria del Carmen Bernal. 4 Grandchildren, Alyssa Gamez, Aislinn Gamez, Ricardo Bernal and Daniel Bernal. Brother, Rodolfo Villarreal. Sisters, Irene Neira and Irma Baez from Chicago, Illinois. Also surviving her are nephews, nieces and other relatives and many friends. Grandma Rachel as she was affectionately called by Aislinn and James will forever live in their hearts, as she was a part of their daily lives, They enjoyed helping take care of her with such love and kindness. They loved to make her smile and filled her life with happiness until the Lord took her Home. Visitation and a Vigil of the Deceased were held in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
