RAMONA CANTU Ramona Cantu, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Cantu was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She had been an employee for Laredo Independent School District for over 33 years where she had been a custodian of books. After her retirement she went on to enjoy spending time with her children, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Doroteo and Guadalupe Cantu. Daughter, Sara Alicia Cantu. Brothers, Doroteo Cantu Jr., Jesus Maria Cantu, Gilberto Cantu, Ernesto Cantu, Alfredo Cantu and Rodolfo Roberto Cantu. She is survived by her children, David (Rebecca) Alviso and Anna (Ramon) Sotelo. 12 Grandchildren 16 Great-Grandchildren 2 Great-great grandchildren Brother, Eloy (Alicia) Cantu Sister, Maria Hermelinda (Miguel) Hinojosa Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:05 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
