Obituary

RAUL VELIZ SR.
Raul Veliz Sr. "El Conejo", 66, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018 at a local hospital.
Mr. Veliz was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a lifelong resident.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio S. Veliz ,Angelita Garcia-Veliz and brother, Antonio Veliz, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, of 45 years of marriage, Juanita S. Veliz.
Children, Maricela Veliz, Maria Dolores Lucio, Rosalia Reza, Maria Guadalupe Veliz, Raul Veliz, Jr. and Jose Luis Veliz.
Sisters, Ciria Norma Wise and Maria Theresa Veliz-Jimenez; and 19 grandchildren.
Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
The Veliz Family is very grateful for the committed care and support that was given by the great medical team at LMC 5C, Dr. Armando Garza IV, Dr. Selina Juarez Stuart and Dr. Elsa Canales.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at  Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
