Obituary

RAUL VILLARREAL
"He's in the sun, the wind, the rain, he's in the air you breathe with every breath you take. He sings a song of hope and cheer, there's no more pain, no more fear. You'll see him in the clouds above, hear him whisper words of love, you'll be together before long, until then for his song."-Christy Ann Martine
Our beloved father, Raul Villarreal, 71, was taken by our good Lord on Saturday, October 6, 2018 while in the familiar comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Our father was born in Laredo, Texas and had remained a resident for most of his life. He was a retired Supervisory U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer who served the federal government for 36 years. He also faithfully served his country in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force in June of 1971. Our father was a 1965 graduate of Martin High School in Laredo, Texas. While there he was a member of the R.O.T.C. in January of 1972, he married the love of his life, Evangelina R. Villarreal in a blessed ceremony. Through their union, they produced three children who they would raise in a world of love, guidance, and warmth. Our father loved his family greatly, was compassionate and kind. He was a gift beyond measure and will be deeply missed by all his family.
He was preceded in death by his darling wife, Evangelina R. Villarreal, his cherished son, Raul Villarreal Jr., and his father Eliberto Villarreal.
He is survived by his two daughters Melissa Ann (Roberto) Godina and Sandra Mae (Oscar) Lopez .
Grandchildren, Sydney C. Godina, Oscar A. Lopez III., Madelyn E. Lopez and Mason A. Lopez.
Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.
