Obituary

REGINA LOURDES RAMIREZ
Regina Lourdes Garza Ramirez was called by her heavenly Father to her true and eternal home on Monday, November 2, 2020. She died peacefully, surrounded by her husband and family. She will be very dearly missed by her family and by all those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Zaragoza and Pauline Garza. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, of 27 years, Rafael Ramirez, her siblings Placida (Mario) Narvaez, Eugenio Zaragoza (Dolores) Garza, Mary Elizabeth Garza, and Catherine (+Rogelio) Rodriguez, and by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
For most of her life, Regina worked as a nursing assistant at "Casa Amistad", the Laredo Satellite residential facility of the San Antonio State Hospital, a division of the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
Regina was talented artistically, and had wonderful drawing skills. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts, creating colorful posters, and was very gifted in calligraphy. She loved to collect miniature versionsof stuffed animals, especially of her favorite "Peanuts" characters. She was an avid New York Yankees fan.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the care provided by her physician, Dr. Milton Haber, and by the Director and Staff of Vara Hospice.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitations will be limited to 40 people inside our funeral home.
It is preferred for minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Funeral servces will take place on Friday, November 6, 2020, beginning with Visitation from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. , followed by Holy Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Interment to follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
