RENE JAVIER GARCIA
Our most beloved son, brother, family member and friend, Rene Javier Garcia, 58 years old, passed away on Sunday May 24, 2020 and is now at peace in the house of our heavenly father.
Mr. Garcia was born in Laredo, Texas, lived in Austin for approximately 30 years, and later returned to his hometown of Laredo. Those who knew Rene, even just a little, have lost a shining light in their lives. He was always a gentleman, respectable, ready to help anybody. His life in restaurant management and customer service was very important to him. Rene always made you feel like the most important person in the room. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Leonor Garcia Sr.
Maternal grandparents, Pete and Primorosa Dalrymple.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Elsie Garcia.
Brothers, Ricardo "Ricky" (Esther) Garcia and Robert "Rob" Garcia.
Nephews, Derrick (Erika) Garcia, Michael Anthony Garcia and Jacob Richard Garcia.
Grandnephew, Erik Garcia.
Also surviving him is his uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Garcia had a passion for cooking and always wanted everyone to have a meal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Texas Food Bank, in his memory.
Following the Ordinance by the State of Texas, visitation will be limited to 25 % of capacity inside our funeral home.
It is preferred that minor children not be allowed to attend services.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 28, 2020 departing from the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Holy Mass was celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Other service details may be obtained by calling the funeral home at (956) 723-2979.
PALLBEARERS WERE: Derrick Garcia, Michael Garcia, Jacob Garcia, Paul Barcenez, Richard Elliott, Suzanne Slight Hogan, George Martinez and Charlie Laurel.
