RICHARD A. DOUGHERTY
Richard A. Dougherty, 92, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at a local hospital.
Mr. Dougherty was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and was duly awarded with the Atlantic Pacific Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Army Occupational Medal. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Josefina Dougherty.
His beloved wife, Bertha Dougherty.
Siblings, Edward Dougherty and Alice Sanchez Dougherty.
He is survived by his children, Patricia Dougherty, Richard A. Dougherty Jr., Sandra Dougherty and Robert Dougherty.
Grandchildren, Arturo (Cynthia) Treviño, Michael Treviño, Robert (Christy) Treviño, Pamela Treviño, Richard James Dougherty, Brian Dougherty and Samantha Dougherty.
8 great grandchildren.
Also surviving him are numerous other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.
Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2019. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery-Veteran's Section.
