Robert Jeffery Batey, 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

Mr. Batey was born in Alice, Texas and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Charles and Mary Frances Batey.

Son, Robert Fuller Batey.

Brother, Bruce Edward Batey.

Sister, Kathleen Betey.

Brother-in-Law, Larry Rutgers.

1st  wife, Andreas Cobos Batey.

Grandson, Andrew Jeremiah Hale.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Ann Batey.

Children, Karol (Jesus) Garza, Salathiel (Gabriela) Hale, Samantha (AJ) Bilyeu, Andrew (Paulina) Batey, Derek  Hale and Audrey (Luis) Villarreal.

11 grandchildren.

Brothers, William "Billy" Batey.

Sisters, Karen Batey (Lance Sindo), Julie (Adolfo) Laurel and Sandie Rutgers.

Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a vigil of the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chaplels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave.  Committal services will be held on a later date.
