ROEL HERNANDEZ

Roel Hernandez, 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Mr. Hernandez was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico and was a long life resident of Laredo, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Macedonio and Maria Luisa Hernandez.

Sister, Raquel (Jesus) Flores.

Brothers, Rodolfo Hernandez and Raul Hernandez.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years of marriage, Maria Asencion Garcia.

Daughter, Gina (Gilberto) Garcia.

Grandson, Gilberto Ethan Garcia.

His K9 "Best Friend" Bagel.

Nephews and nieces, Rene (Sol) Flores, Derly (Virginia) Flores, Cynthia (Luis) Rodriguez and Eduardo Flores.

Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a vigil of the deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:30 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2026. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
