ROLANDO “PEQUE” GAUCIN

Age: 46 years old

BORN: 5-18-1980

Rolando “Peque” Gaucin joined Our Lord in his Heavenly Kingdom on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Mr. Gaucin was born in Laredo, Texas and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Dr. Leo G. Cigarroa High School in 2002. He was a regular participant in Special Olympics. Peque’s life makes very clear that among significant life skills individuals with intellectual disabilities must be taught; leisure skills are extremely important for quality of life. Peque enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to music as well as playing the guitar; accordion and piano, Dancing and singing were his passion.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Veronica Benavides.

Brothers, Juan Pablo Gaucin and Jose Luis Gaucin.

Grandparents, Pablo and Martia Elida Benavides Quintaña.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving father, Raul (Leticia†) Gaucin.

Brothers, Raul (Alejandra) Gaucin and Emilio Gaucin.

Sisters, Corina Y. De Los Santos and Anna Louisa (John Carlo) Barajas.

Nephews and nieces, Rudy D. De Los Santos and Raul (Isabel) Gaucin III, Jasmine L. Gaucin and Emily N. Gaucin.

Also surviving him are numerous other family relatives and many friends.

Rolando’s Family would like to thank the numerous people that helped Peque in his journey. Starting since birth and to his later years. In particular to Health Care and Day Care Professionals which loved and cared for him through the years. They would also like to thank the great and wonderful team of Hospice Nurses on Wheels, Acara Primary Home Health, his Staff of Doctors and Las Flores Daycare.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a vigil of the deceased will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin departing the funeral home chapel at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at San Vicente De Paul Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
