Rosa Maria Aguilar
February 9, 1951 – December 7, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rosa Maria Aguilar on December
7, 2024, at Laredo Medical Center in Laredo, Texas.

Born on February 9, 1951, in Laredo, Texas, Rosa (known as Rosie) lived a life filled with love, resilience, and devotion to her family.
Rosa Maria raised a loving family, which brought her immense pride and joy.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Jose M. De Leon, Teresa De Leon; her brothers and
sisters Ruben De Leon, Jose M. De Leon Jr., Ramiro De Leon, Javier De Leon, Maria
Guadalupe Hernandez; and her precious son Abel Hernandez.

She is survived by her children, Monica (Isaac) Santos, Teresa (Edgar) Juarez, Santiago (Elsa) Hernandez, Selina
(Ignacio) Rocha and her daughter-in-law Amanda Martinez. She is survived by her sister Hilda
(Francisco) Mendoza. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Anna Hernandez,
Santiago Hernandez III, Scarlett Hernandez, Abel Hernandez Jr., Ava Hernandez, Natalie
Melendez, Ignacio Melendez III, Jazmin Melendez, Alizah Melendez, Isaiah Melendez, Cassi
Santos, Carlos Santos, Clarissa Santos, Anthony Salazar, Emily Juarez, Ezrah Juarez. Rosa
Rosa Maria's life was marked by her love for gardening, where she found joy in maintaining her
plants. She cherished summers visiting her sister in Austin and creating memories with her
grandchildren filled with laughter and love. Known for her resilience and determination she
stood by her younger sister until her last day. She continued her endless love by loving
Santiago, Abel, and Selina as her very own. Rosa Maria never allowed anything to hold her
back, not even after enduring multiple medical conditions. Her unstoppable spirit remains an
inspiration to all who knew her.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 13, 2024 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Funeral Chapels, 800 Boston St., Laredo, TX 78041. Holy Mass was celebrated in her memory at San Vicente De Paul Catholic Church. Committal  will be held at a later date.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Isaac Santos Jr., Edgar Juarez, Carlos Santos, Anthony Salazar, Abel Hernandez Jr., Rudy De Leon, Santiago Hernandez III and Rogelio De Leon.

Rosa Maria Aguilar's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Arturo Garza-Gongora, Dr.
Mahani, and Dr. Carlos Cigarroa. A sincere thank you to all who have offered support and
comfort during this time of sorrow. May she rest in eternal peace.
