Rosa María, 83, was called to heaven on April 13, 2023, in Laredo, Texas. She was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and lived most of her life in Laredo, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jose María Hernández Garcia, daughter Diana Hernández Rendon, son-in-law Carlos De Los Santos, Sr. and her parents Alfonso Cardenas Rodriguez and Lilia Galindo Regalado.
Mrs. Hernández was survived by her sons and daughters, Pat De Los Santos, Leticia Pierce, Lydia (David) Flores, Jose Humberto Hernández, Lucy (Mike) Reynolds, Carmen (Carlos) Cruz, Rosario Hernández and Salvador Hernández. Furthermore,11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to countless siblings, nephews, nieces, and many friends.
She loved arts and crafts, gardening, cooking and reading her ipad. Rosa María had a passion for sewing, she was quite a good seamstress having sewn and designed some of her daughters' wedding dresses. Rosa María enjoyed spending holidays with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted Catholic who attended church on Sundays with her family. Moreover, she enjoyed traveling and eating out with family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 departing from the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons, Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave . Holy Mass was celebrated at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Committal services for inurnment will follow Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Carlos de los Santos Jr., Jonathan Davison, Cesar Rendon, Carlos A. Cruz, Joey A. Cruz and Cody Pierce.
Honorary Pallbearers: Salvador Hernandez and Jose Humberto Hernandez.
