ROSA ELVA GOMEZ Rosa Elva Gomez, 80, passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015 at a local retirement home. Mrs. Gomez was born in Villaldama Nuevo Leon, Mexico and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Margarita Gallardo. Nephew, Manuel Guadalupe Gallardo. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years of marriage Sylvestre Gomez. Sons and daughter, Margarita (Conrado) Saucedo, Oscar (Guadalupe) Gomez, Jose Juan (Ana Bertha) Gomez, Jose Antonio (Elsa) Gomez, Uvaldo (Patricia) Gomez, Hector Gomez, Maria Magdalena (Felipe) Espinoza, Maria Del Rosario (Federico) Garcia and Martha Araceli Gomez. 35 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Sister, Evelia Llanos. Brother, Jose Gallardo. Also surviving him are nephews, nieces and other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapel, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will follow at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
