Obituary

ROSA B. FLORES

Rosa B. Flores, 94, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Mrs. Flores was born in Laredo, Texas and was a longlife resident.

Rosa Botello was born to Anastacio and Abelina Botello in Laredo, Texas December 5, 1927. She was the second oldest of 6 Botello siblings; Eduardo, Rosa, Anastacio Jr, Olga, Alicia and Benjamin Botello grew up on Corpus Christi street. Thereafter, the Botello family moved to Garfield in the early part of 1940's, Rosa was around 15 year of age. It was here where Mom and Dad met. The Botello family later moved from Garfield to Gustavus in the late 1940's where still today our loving aunt Olga Botello resides.

In 1946, Mom graduated in the top ten of her class at Laredo Martin High School. After High School, Mom began her work with Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. On October 1, 1950, Alfonso Flores and Rosa Botello married at Blessed Sacrament Church. Mr. and Mrs. Flores welcomed their first-born Alfonso Flores Jr. in 1951 starting their new family. From that day forward, Rosa and Alfonso Flores became Mom and Dad to 5 incredible children to include Alfonso, Rosalinda Tijerina, Ricardo, Gerardo and Ignacio Flores.

Always together, Mom and Dad celebrated their life raising and caring for their family. Guided by God, inspired by love, Mom was an exceptional wife, mother, sister, friend and spiritual guide to many. After dedicating her life to raising her children, Mom began her spiritual ministry of praying for the infirm and less fortunate. For many years, she opened her home and hosted prayer meetings every Wednesday to people of all walks of life. She frequently visited both hospitals to pray for the sick. Her mission and ministry extended to inmates at the Webb County jail, CCA and Adult Detention Center. Right up to her passing, Mom was always excited to pray with and for others.

The family would like to thank everyone who's extended their love to our Mom and our family. Special thanks to; Dr. J.R. Garcia, Serenity Healthcare; Nurse Rosie, Fausto, Valeri and Dianita. Also, Mom's caregivers Juany, Gloria, and Mari.

As a family, we are blessed to share this moment in God's peace with friends and family. Thank you for the outpouring of love and support. Mom reminded us always she lived in God's hands. We leave you with Mom's favorite bible verse; "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" Joshua 24.15
