ROSAURA VELA ASTUDILLO Rosaura Vela Astudillo, 64, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 in Laredo, Texas. Mrs. Astudillo was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a resident of Laredo all of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Lucia Vela and by her sister, Aurora Vela. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years of marriage Pablo Miguel Astudillo. Children, Juan Ernesto (Martha) Astudillo, Pablo Miguel (Nora) Astudillo, Jr., Pedro Javier (Arianna) Astudillo and Alejandra Rubi Astudillo. Her 7 grandchildren Also surviving her are numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased was held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m. at San Luis Rey Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
