passed away on Saturday, July 09, 2016 at a local hospital.
Mr. Rodriguez was born in Laredo, Texas and had been a life long resident.
Rosendo was a civil rights activist as a young man ad an outstanding athlete. He was well known as talented pitcher and avid runner until his early 70's. Most of all he was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife, Herminia Carpentier Rodriguez.
Children, Alexander (Aida) Rodriguez, Roger (Virginia) Rodriguez, Adriana Rodriguez, Jerry (Valerie) Rodriguez and Rosendo Rodriguez Jr.
Grandchildren, Crystal (Alfonso) Sanchez, Alex Rodriguez Jr., Amanda Rodriguez, Seth Rodriguez, Abel Rodriguez, Ali Rodriguez, David Castillo, Katya Lopez, Dylan Rodriguez and Connor Rodriguez.
Great-grandchildren, Lyla Sanchez and Isaac Sanchez.
Sisters, Rebecca (Jorge) Gallegos, Dora Rodriguez, Yolanda Brown and Minerva Tovar.
Brothers, Raul (Barbara) Rodriguez and Ricardo Rodriguez.
Also surviving him are nephews, nieces other relatives and many friend.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the
Hernandez-Lopez and Sons East Chapel, 4500 Thomas Ave.
Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Committal services and interment will be held at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
