Obituary

ROY GUTIERREZ
Roy Gutierrez, 65, passed away January 3, 2021 at Methodist hospital in Houston, Texas.
He was born May 24, 1955, and was a long-life resident of Laredo, Texas. Roy graduated from Martin High School, Class of 1975. He was always proud to say "Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger". He married his high school sweetheart, San Juanita Castillo, and celebrated 45 years of marriage.
He worked at HEB groceries for 25 years and happily retired. He enjoyed watching western movies, feeding his chickens in the backyard, grilling (BBQ) with his sons, and spending time with his family. On his free time, he liked socializing with his high school football buddies, all his "carnales." He was exceedingly proud of his family and often bragged about everyone's accomplishments from career to life choices; his immediate and extended family of educators, veterans and overall providers.
Roy valued the simple things in life, and found happiness in the true values of life – family, community, and faith. In his last moments he was blessed to have been surrounded by his family. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. Roy was a good man who now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father and entered eternal life.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents: Santos and Amanda Gutierrez; nephew: Raul Ernesto Gutierrez.

Parents-in-Law, Guadalupe and Maria B. Castillo Jr.
Brothers and Sisters-in-Law,  Jose Jorge Castillo, Raul Castillo, Eduardo "Pache" Castillo and Mary Castillo.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, San Juanita "Juany" Gutierrez.
Children, Joanne (Fernando Cortez) Gutierrez, Raul (Silvia) Gutierrez, Jolene (Juan Arguelles) Gutierrez, Roy (Lisa) Gutierrez Jr., Ruth Gutierrez and Judy Gutierrez.
Grandchildren, Raul Leroy Gutierrez, Julie Gutierrez, Tristan Roy Gutierrez, Khloe Joanne Arguelles, Ashley Marie Gutierrez and Kirsten Nicole Gutierrez.
Siblings, Santos (+Esperanza) Gutierrez Jr., Ines (+Antonio) Palacios, Henry (Wanda) Gutierrez, +Jose Gutierrez, Amando (Juanita) Gutierrez, James (Juanita) Gutierrez, Norma Gutierrez, Thelma San Miguel, Juan Gutierrez, Linda (Oscar) Hernandez, (Twin) Ruth (Joe) Ramos, Richard Gutierrez, Jesse (Janie) Gutierrez and Heberto (Mirtha) Gutierrez.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 departing from the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Holy Mass was celebrated at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services and interment followed at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

PALLBEARERS WERE: Juan Arguelles, Raul Gutierrez, Raul Leroy Gutierrez, Khloe Joanne Arguellos, Julie Gutierrez, Tristan Gutierrez, Fernando Cortez Jr and Roy Gutierrez Jr.

Mrs. Gutierrez would like to offer a special "Thank You" to Fernando Ramos and Enrique Gutierrez for the honorable Sheriff/Constable escorts provided for her beloved husband.
