RUBEN VELA Ruben Vela, 52, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015 at a local hospital. Mr. Vela was born in San Antonio and had been a long life resident of Laredo, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Jesus and Antonio Vela. He is survived by his sister, San Juanita (Francisco) Lopez. Brother, Oscar Luis (Elvira) Vela. Nephews and nieces, Cristina (Omar) Carrion, Laura Lopez, Adriana Lopez, Oscar Luis Vela,II. and Samantha (Gabriel) Padilla. Great nieces and nephews, Oscar Carrion, Sofia Carrion, Gina Carrion, Lilly Lopez and Anaya Vela. Also surviving him are other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Hernandez, Lopez and Sons Northside Chapel, 800 Boston St. on San Bernardo Ave. Committal services will be held at a later date.
