SAN JUANITA "JANIE" GONZALEZ
It is with a heavy heart that our family announce the passing of our beautiful and beloved sister San Juanita Gonzalez, lovingly known by all as "Janie". Janie was called to our Lord's Paradise on Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was 61 years old.
Janie was born in Laredo, Texas, and was a life-long resident. Our beautiful Janie loved family gatherings, especially for her birthday in July, for which she would always start a countdown since January. She had huge birthday parties and celebrations for the past 12 years. Janie loved Facetime calling on her iPhone, and enjoyed posing for pictures. She loved eating at restaurants and shopping at Walmart. Janie was a caring, loving and friendly individual, and all our friends loved her. Our beautiful sister Janie will be missed tremendously by everyone.
She is preceded in death by our parents- Francisco and Julia Gonzalez, and our brother Jerry Gonzalez.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Nora (Jorge) Mendoza; Gonzalo (Fela) Gonzalez; Elsa Rebecca Gonzalez; Alma (Richard) Perales; Irma Graciela (Eddie) Saldivar.
Also, Sister-in-law- Sandi (Jerry+) Gonzalez.
Also nieces and nephews who loved her very much- Markos ( Amanda) Mendoza; Eddie (Lauren) Mendoza; Alex (Chloe ) Mendoza; Celina (Felipe) Menchaca; Jackie (Joe) Vega; Gonzalo (Roxie) Gonzalez; JC Mendez, Olivia Perales; Eddie III, Ian and Ilynne Saldivar.
Also surviving are her great-nieces and great-nephews: Kayla, Kylie, and Sebastian Vega; Ricky and Steven Menchaca; and Andy and Emma Gonzalez.
Through the years, Janie was blessed with many private nurses who assisted her in daily routines at home. A big thank you to Sandra, Ellie, Julie, and Liz. You were a Godsend. Our family also expresses deep gratitude to Janie's home health care provider Sylvia Godina, who for many years went above and beyond providing care and love for our sister, Janie.
