MR. SANTANA CARRERA Mr. Santana Carrera, 74, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2014 at a local hospital. Mr. Carrera was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo, Texas for sometime. He is preceded in death by his son, Gilberto Carrera, Sr. Brothers, Humberto Carrera, Cesar Carrera and Francisco Carrera. Parents, Cesario Carrera and Ana Maria Gonzalez Carrera. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years of marriage, Petra Alma Carrera. Children, Frank Carrera, Merrybelle (Robert) Mendiola and Mark (Irma) Carrera. Daughter-in-Law, Reyna Carrera. 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Siblings, Jose Luis Carrera, Lorenzo Carrera, Fernando Carrera, Humberto Carrera, Rogelio Carrera, Ruben Carrera, Hilda Garza, Ana Maria Solis, Blanca Moore, Irma Gutierrez, Sandra Arambula, Estela Hernandez and Elisa Farias. Also surviving him are nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez ands Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal services will be held at a later date.
