Santiago Garcia, 81, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Garcia was born and raised in Laredo and later became a Korean War Veteran with the U.S. Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Desiderio and Matiana Garcia; his brother, Tomas; and sisters, Petra, Natividad, Merced, Alicia and Paulita. He is survived by his brother, Alejandro De Los Santos; his wife of 52 years, Natividad; and children: Dalia Arredondo, Roxana Ramos, Araceli, Arturo, Yamil, Melissa (Alberto Inocencio), Christina (Vicente Alvarez) and Cecilia Garcia; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a prayer service will be at 7 p.m. at the Hernandez-Lopez Funeral Home located at 800 Boston St. Funeral Services will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at the chapel followed by a Holy Mass at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church located on 109 N. Meadow Ave. Interment will immediately follow with the Military Honorary Service at the City of Laredo Cemetery, Veteran's Section
