SANTOS MERAZ GARCIA Santos Meraz Garcia, 94, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at a local nursing home. Mrs. Garcia was born in Mexico and had been a resident of Laredo for most of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paz and Dominga Meraz. Husband, Federico S. Garcia. Brother, Cecilio Meraz. Sisters, San Juana Meraz and Sylvestra Meraz. She is survived by her sister, Alejandra Meraz. Sister-in-Law, Irma Escobedo Meraz. Nieces and Nephew, Raul (Veronica) Meraz, Blanca (Eduardo) Martinez, Rosa Maria Meraz and Irma Patricia Reyes. Also other nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. and a Vigil of the Deceased will be held at 7 p.m. in the Hernandez-Lopez and Sons Northside Chapels, 800 Boston St. at San Bernardo Ave. Funeral services will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 departing from the funeral home chapel. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Church. Committal services and interment will then follow in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery
